Harmonic average is used to calculate the average of a group of data such as arithmetic and geometric mean.

Let the elements of a series with n elements be x _{ 1 }, x _{ 2 }, x _{ 3 } ... and x _{ n }. For the harmonic average calculation of this series;

Harmonic Mean = n / ((1 / x _{ 1 }) + (1 / x _{ 2 }) + (1 / x _{ 3 } ) + ... + (1 / x _{ n })].

For example, let's calculate the harmonic average of the values below.

• 1st value: 55,

• 2nd value: 75,

• 3rd value: 80,

• 4th value: 100,

• 5th value: 70,

• 6th value: 90,

• 7.value: 80,

In this case, Harmonic Average according to the formula = 7 / ((1/55) + (1/75) + (1/80) + (1/100) + (1/70) + (1/90) + (1/80)] = 76.16.
