The arithmetic mean is the average obtained by dividing the totals of a group of data by the total number. It is expressed as the average of the numbers in the series.
Let the elements of a series with n elements be x 1 , x 2 , x 3 ... and x n . For the arithmetic average calculation of this series;
Arithmetic Mean = (x 1 + x 2 + x 3 + ... + x n ) / n.
For example, the scores of students in a class are as follows.
• Student 1 score: 55,
• Student's score: 75,
• 3rd student's score: 80,
• 4th student's score: 100,
• 5th student's score: 70,
• 6th student's score: 90,
• 7th student's score: 80,
So how do we calculate the arithmetic average of students' scores?
Since the arithmetic average calculation formula is the sum / number of the numbers in the series;
(55 + 75 + 80 + 100 + 70 + 90 + 80) / 7 = 78.57.
If you want to calculate an arithmetic average, first choose how many numbers you will calculate from our calculation tool. You can then calculate the arithmetic average by entering the numbers and clicking the calculate button.
